Being an avid duck hunter with my dad when I was little and then moving as I attended college I started looking for the right breed of dog and decided the Labrador was the right choice for me. I have been involved with the Labrador breed for over 20 yrs now and just started my breeding program in 2017.
I was looking at getting a cream colored yellow and during my search saw my first fox red shade. I immediately loved the coloring as she would blend in the brush and not stand out and found and brought home my first Labrador puppy, Sandy May born March 17, 2000. She was a mismark but knew nothing of that when I got her and as a few year past by I researched more about their ancestors & history: she was marked like the St. John's Water Dog. When she was at age of 14 I got another pup Peanut, after few months Sandy May’s breast cancer took over and had to make that dreaded decision. After Sandy passing I didn't go back out duck hunting for a while then decided to take enter Peanut into hunt tests. Since getting Sandy & Peanut and leaning their history, I have become very partial to the darker shades of Yellow and Fox Red for my breeding program. Our dogs compete in Dock Jumping, UKC Shed Hunting, NASHDA Shed Hunt Tests, and AKC Hunt tests. I raise my puppies inside my home and they are handled daily. I start the puppies using ENS (early neurological stimulation) and ESI (Early Sent Introduction) starting at 3 days old through 16 days old and use various methods by Puppy Culture as the grow and develop to help enrich them early in their lives. ENS has been proven to improve the overall health from increased stress tolerance, stronger nervous & immune systems, better heart and respiration rates as well as thought process. Puppy Culture is a program that represents a standard in puppy rearing, socialization, and enrichment. Puppy Culture gives your puppies a great foundation and early training to make the transition and life easier once they go home.
